Senior Construction Manager

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead and drive execution of medium-to-large-scale data center capital projects at our Port Washington, WI site. This role provides end-to-end leadership across all phases of construction delivery, from pre-construction through commissioning and turnover to Operations, while managing internal stakeholders, external contractors, and critical project interfaces.

The Senior Construction Manager operates with a high level of autonomy and accountability, leading multiple work streams simultaneously while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with Vantage quality, safety, and operational standards. This role plays a key leadership position in driving safety performance, mentoring team members, and ensuring seamless integration across Construction, Operations, New Site Development, and Engineering.

This position is fully on-site in Port Washington, WI.

Essential Job Functions
  • Lead management of project scope, safety, schedule, stakeholders, and budget across assigned capital projects.

  • Drive all phases of construction delivery including pre-construction, design development, permitting and entitlements, competitive bidding, team selection, construction oversight, commissioning, and project closeout.

  • Lead multiple projects and deliverables concurrently while maintaining alignment with corporate objectives.

  • Translate job requirements into execution with minimal supervision and strong independent judgment.

  • Implement and enforce project quality controls and safety programs through in-depth understanding of partner contracts and design documents.

  • Lead the Vantage site safety program, including conducting and reporting on weekly HRA site walks (two required per week).

  • Perform and/or supervise regular safety walks to ensure contractor compliance with Vantage EH&S policies.

  • Ensure construction execution complies with Basis of Design (BOD), specifications, codes, lease requirements, and regulatory standards.

  • Develop RFPs and manage overall project budgeting.

  • Submit monthly project financial reporting including forecasting, cash flow, and variance analysis.

  • Review monthly contractor billing and perform job walks to substantiate progress.

  • Develop, lead, maintain, and support negotiation of contracts with new and existing vendors.

  • Collaborate closely with design teams, contractors, Operations, and clients to ensure seamless coordination and delivery.

  • Coordinate logistics and planning for all OFCI equipment.

  • Lead commissioning activities for critical systems integration across new and existing data centers.

  • Ensure complete handoff of physical data center assets and project documentation to Operations.

  • Maintain strong awareness of mission-critical facility operations and uptime requirements.

  • Serve as a leader and mentor to Vantage employees, promoting accountability, collaboration, and professional development.

  • Capture and drive lessons learned, process improvements, and cost and schedule optimization initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience leading construction projects of increasing complexity; 7–10 years preferred.

  • Data center construction experience preferred.

  • Experience with multi-prime or alternative procurement delivery models preferred.

  • Proficiency with Procore, Cx Alloy, and Primavera P6 preferred.

  • Proven experience managing CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction scopes required.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.

  • Expected travel is approximately 10% but may increase as business needs evolve.
