Overview
As Regional Safety Manager you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs and policies to ensure a safe and secure working environment across all projects. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement in safety performance. The Regional Safety Manager will be a key contributor to the success of our projects by effectively managing safety risks and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a proactive safety management system to identify, assess, and control hazards on construction sites.
- Create and maintain safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential safety hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to project teams, subcontractors, and employees on safety-related matters.
- Organize and perform safety orientations for all direct-hire and subcontractor employees working under contract with company.
- Develop the pre-task plans with the help of onsite supervision.
- Establish and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for employees and subcontractors to increase awareness and promote safe work practices.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and provide detailed reports and recommendations for corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project-specific safety plans and ensure their effective implementation.
- Stay updated on emerging trends, products, regulations, and best practices in construction safety management, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Monitor subcontractors' safety performance and compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, including incident reports, safety training records, and safety-related documentation.
- Perform multiple informal daily site assessments to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, Local, and Site Safety & Health standards and document the results.
- Attend and professionally represent company in all required customer safety meetings.
- Support Field in OSHA inspections.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or related field experience. Relevant certifications or professional designations (e.g., CSP, CHST) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience as a Safety Manager in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction processes, hazards, and safety regulations.
- Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA and other relevant standards.
- Minimum OSHA 30 certification.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence employees at all levels.
- Experience in developing and implementing safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to conduct effective safety training sessions and deliver engaging presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough incident investigations and develop actionable recommendations.
- Proficient in using safety management software, incident reporting systems, and other relevant tools.
- High level of attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
