At NES, safety is more than a priority-it's a core value that drives every decision we make. We're seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead the implementation and execution of our project safety program on large-scale electrical and mission-critical construction projects.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for creating a culture where every employee, subcontractor, and partner goes home safely every day. You'll provide independent oversight of project safety, influence field leadership, drive regulatory compliance, and proactively identify risks before they become incidents.

What You'll Do Lead the Project Safety Program
  • Develop, implement, and manage the project-specific Safety Management Plan.
  • Establish clear safety expectations, procedures, and standards across all phases of construction.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, customer requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Partner with project leadership to integrate safety into every aspect of planning and execution.
Drive a Strong Safety Culture
  • Promote a proactive, behavior-based safety culture through leadership, coaching, and accountability.
  • Lead daily safety engagement activities, including pre-task planning, stretch-and-flex meetings, toolbox talks, and supervisor safety meetings.
  • Develop initiatives that encourage employee participation, hazard recognition, and continuous improvement.
  • Reinforce accountability across all levels of project leadership and subcontractor teams.
Manage Risk Before Work Begins
  • Participate in look-ahead planning and project coordination meetings.
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), lift plans, and high-risk work activities.
  • Identify potential hazards and implement mitigation strategies before work starts.
  • Ensure proper planning for energized work, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), fall protection, rigging, confined space, equipment operation, and other critical safety programs.
Provide Field Leadership & Oversight
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the jobsite to monitor work activities and reinforce safe work practices.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and observations.
  • Stop work when unsafe conditions or behaviors create imminent risk.
  • Support field supervisors with coaching, compliance, and corrective action implementation.
Lead Incident Response & Compliance
  • Direct investigations involving incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure OSHA reporting requirements and customer reporting expectations are met.
  • Maintain incident documentation, case management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Share lessons learned to improve future project performance.
Manage Training & Onboarding
  • Oversee safety orientation for all employees and subcontractors before site access.
  • Verify all personnel possess required certifications and training.
  • Maintain accurate onboarding and training documentation.
  • Coordinate ongoing safety education and awareness programs throughout the project lifecycle.
Partner with Customers & Subcontractors
  • Serve as the primary safety liaison with owners, general contractors, and customer safety representatives.
  • Participate in customer audits, inspections, and project safety meetings.
  • Establish and communicate clear safety expectations for subcontractors.
  • Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure compliance with project standards.
Measure Performance
  • Track safety metrics, inspections, corrective actions, and leading indicators.
  • Prepare reports for project leadership and executive management.
  • Identify trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen project safety performance.
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Five or more years of construction safety experience, preferably supporting electrical, industrial, commercial, or mission-critical projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
  • Experience leading safety programs on complex construction projects.
  • Ability to conduct incident investigations and perform root cause analysis.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • OSHA 500, CHST, CSP, ASP, or other recognized professional safety certifications.
  • Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, or large-scale industrial construction projects.
