Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Associate Project Manager, or Site Lead within a construction environment
- Experience managing field operations on commercial construction projects
- Strong understanding of low-voltage systems, structured cabling, telecommunications, or mission-critical infrastructure projects
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, field personnel, materials, and project schedules
- Background in QA/QC processes and construction quality standards
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation
- Experience tracking project milestones, deliverables, and progress updates
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with clients, field teams, and executive leadership
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- Experience supporting large-scale commercial construction or mission-critical projects
- Copper and fiber optic cabling knowledge
- Experience working with telecommunications, security, AV, or IT infrastructure contractors
- Familiarity with project management software and construction reporting tools
- Experience supporting projects from pre-construction through closeout
Insight Global is partnering with one of the nation's fastest-growing AV, security, and IT infrastructure contractors to hire an Associate Project Manager for a large-scale data center campus project in Port Washington, Wisconsin. This organization has become a major player in the mission-critical construction space by delivering high-quality infrastructure projects for some of the world's largest technology companies.
The Associate Project Manager will play a key role in supporting the successful execution of data center construction activities while serving as a liaison between field operations, subcontractors, clients, and project leadership. This individual will be responsible for coordinating daily project activities, tracking milestones, managing subcontractor performance, monitoring manpower and material needs, and ensuring project objectives are achieved safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
A significant portion of this role will involve reviewing construction drawings and project documentation, participating in daily foreman and leadership meetings, monitoring project progress, and communicating status updates to both internal stakeholders and clients. The Associate Project Manager will work closely with Superintendents, Foremen, and senior leadership to proactively identify challenges, develop solutions, and maintain project momentum.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting construction projects within low-voltage, structured cabling, telecommunications, electrical, or mission-critical environments and possess strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Individuals who thrive in fast-paced construction environments and enjoy being heavily involved in field operations will be highly successful in this role.
