As an Assistant Project Manager you’ll support project delivery across commercial, data center, healthcare, and industrial mechanical/HVAC work. Reporting to Project Managers and Senior Project Managers, you’ll help drive day-to-day project coordination, document control, schedule tracking, and field communication while developing the technical and leadership skills to run projects independently. This is a hands‑on, growth‑oriented role for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, learning on the job, and collaborating closely with field crews, engineers, and clients.
Keyresponsibilities
- Support Project Managers in scheduling, daily coordination, submittals/RFIs, and change order documentation.
- Assist with cost tracking, invoicing support, and basic forecasting to help protect project margin.
- Maintain project documentation and correspondence; manage document control and ensure contract compliance.
- Coordinate with foremen, superintendents, and trades to resolve field issues and maintain progress.
- Help implement LEAN practices and prefabrication strategies on project tasks.
- Participate in safety, quality, and project meetings and help foster strong client and team relationships.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered.
- 2+ years’ experience in mechanical/MEP construction or related roles (field experience or prior PM support role preferred).
- Familiarity with HVAC/mechanical systems, basic piping, and construction workflows.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; attention to detail.
- Proficiency with MS Office; experience with construction management software or scheduling tools is a plus.
