Overview
The Senior Construction Safety Manager plays a critical role in ensuring safe, compliant, and high‑performing job sites across complex construction environments. This position conducts comprehensive site tours, audits, and inspections to verify adherence to company policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable state and federal safety standards. The role requires a proactive leader who can identify hazards, drive corrective actions, and influence a strong safety culture across diverse project teams.
Responsibilities- Conduct routine and advanced safety inspections on small and large construction sites, identifying hazards, unsafe behaviors, and non‑compliant conditions.
- Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies; escalate concerns to senior safety leadership when necessary.
- Document all inspections, citing deficiencies and recommending corrective actions; ensure timely closure of all findings.
- Maintain and manage all required safety documentation, including incident reports, inspection logs, training records, and regulatory submissions.
- Analyze safety data to identify trends, track injury rates, and develop both immediate and long‑term loss‑control strategies.
- Support emergency response efforts and provide on‑scene assistance during incidents.
- Participate in accident and near‑miss investigations, ensuring root‑cause analysis and corrective actions are completed and communicated.
- Assist in updating safety training materials and facilitate employee training sessions as needed.
- Provide direction and mentorship to junior or less‑experienced safety staff.
- Exercise independent judgment in recommending disciplinary actions for safety violations and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with management on decisions that have significant operational or organizational impact.
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Environmental Sciences, or related field preferred.
- CHST or STS‑C certification required.
- 7–10 years of construction safety experience
, including hands‑on training facilitation. - CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of safety management systems and OSHA CFR 1926 or applicable state construction safety regulations.
- Experience in semiconductor construction or high‑tech manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
- Exceptional communication, documentation, and technical writing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on practical field solutions.
- High level of customer service, organization, and project management capability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to research and interpret OSHA standards online.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and influence employees at all levels
