The Inventory Control & Planning Coordinator supports inventory accuracy and daily production readiness. The position leads routine cycle count execution, investigates inventory discrepancies, and performs defined planning-support activities such as running planner workbenches, firming approved jobs, preparing job packets, and releasing work to the shop floor. This is a hands‑on role that connects accurate inventory, disciplined ERP transactions, and timely shop‑floor execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Inventory Control
  • Complete daily ERP‑generated cycle counts for raw material, work‑in‑process, purchased components, and finished goods.
  • Verify stock locations, perform physical counts, record results, and process approved cycle count transactions in the ERP system.
  • Review variance reports, recount items above established thresholds, and escal discrepancies for approval.
  • Investigate inventory variances, identify likely root causes, and support corrective actions that improve inventory accuracy.
  • Locate missing or misplaced inventory, correct location issues through approved processes, and help maintain accurate bin and stock locations.
  • Support physical inventory activities, inventory audits, obsolete‑material reviews, and inventory‑accuracy reporting.
Planning and Scheduling Support
  • Run assigned planner workbenches and review system messages, exceptions, shortages, and due‑date requirements.
  • Firm planned jobs and release work only within established rules, priorities, and approval limits.
  • Print, assemble, and stuff job packets; verify required travelers, drawings, material lists, and supporting documents are complete.
  • Deliver released job packets to the appropriate shop‑floor areas and communicate priority or documentation issues to Planning and Operations.
  • Review dispatch lists and assist with routine updates, job‑status follow‑up, shortage identification, and schedule maintenance.
  • Perform ERP data entry and routine planning administration, including maintaining notes, reports, and supporting records.
  • Escalate capacity conflicts, material shortages, engineering/documentation issues, or schedule exceptions rather than making unsupported priority changes.
Operational Support
  • Work closely with Planning, Purchasing, Operations, Accounting, Engineering, and Material Handling to resolve routine execution issues.
  • Operate forklifts and material‑handling equipment safely when locating, counting, or moving inventory.
  • Maintain an organized work area and follow all safety, quality, and ERP transaction procedures.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvement and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in manufacturing, material handling, inventory control, production support, or a related environment.
  • Basic math skills, including decimals, fractions, units of measure, and accurate part counting.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn ERP workbenches, reports, and transaction processes.
  • Ability to read part numbers, job documentation, bills of material, and basic production information.
  • Ability to safely operate or become qualified to operate a forklift and RF scanning equipment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, production control, or job packet preparation.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing ERP system;
Syteline / Infor CSI experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of raw material, work‑in‑process, finished goods, back flushing, inventory locations, and bills of material.
  • Forklift experience and familiarity with a high‑mix manufacturing environment.
  • Basic Microsoft Excel skills.
