Ascension is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Oncology Med Surg unit. In this role, you will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to adult oncology and medical-surgical patients, including assessment, chemotherapy and medication administration, symptom management, and discharge planning. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver personalized care, educate patients and families, and support complex treatment plans. - Deliver direct oncology and med-surg nursing care, including comprehensive patient assessments and monitoring
- Administer chemotherapy, medications, blood products, and treatments safely per protocols
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care in collaboration with the care team
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and symptom management
- Coordinate care transitions and discharge planning with case management and interdisciplinary teams
- Document accurately in the EHR, ensuring regulatory and quality standards are met
- Respond to changes in patient condition and elevate appropriately to providers
- Maintain infection prevention, safety, and regulatory compliance on the unit
- Precept and mentor new nurses and support staff when assigned
- Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice initiatives, and continuing education
