Interim Controller

Location: Onsite| Portage, Indiana

We are seeking an Interim Controller to oversee the organization's accounting operations and provide leadership during a transitional period. This individual will be responsible for managing the month-end close process, financial reporting, general ledger oversight, internal controls, and supervising the accounting function while ensuring accurate and timely financial information.

• Lead the month-end and year-end close process.
• Review and prepare monthly financial statements and supporting reports.
• Oversee the general ledger, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Coordinate annual audits and work with external auditors.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Support process improvements and special accounting projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred).
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Previous Controller or Assistant Controller experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, internal controls, and GAAP.
• Experience supervising accounting teams.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP/accounting system experience.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
