Mid Level Automotive Technician - Portage, MI

Job Overview

As a Mid‑Level Automotive Technician at Goodyear, you will gain hands‑on experience diagnosing technical issues while delivering outstanding service at one of Goodyear's Auto Service centers.

• Perform line technician services, routine inspections/maintenance, system diagnostics, and problem‑solving, including brake repairs, fluid exchanges/flushes, preventative maintenance, wheel alignments, and tire installation.
• Demonstrate excellent guest service, including clear communication and feedback about guest vehicles.
• Document all work performed on the repair order.
• Report safety issues immediately to management and promote teamwork to deliver timely and accurate guest care.
• Maintain strict adherence to company policy on vehicle care and operation.
• Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, including light and heavy lifting, standing, bending, and squatting.

• Minimum 1 year of automotive experience including brake repairs, fluid flushes, and preventative maintenance.
• Valid driver's license and at least 18 years of age.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

• Commitment to learning new technologies within the rapidly changing automotive industry.
• Strong analytical skills: able to review, analyze, and interpret information, identify problems, and make decisions.
• Commitment to following established safety policies and procedures.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• ASE Certification.
• Experience diagnosing vehicles and performing road tests.
• Experience with electrical, air conditioning, and primary/advanced fuel ignition systems.
