Salary Range: $19.00 To $23.00 Hourly
Build Your Future with AVB AVB is seeking an experienced Lead Construction Assistant to support field operations, mentor team members, and help ensure our communities are built to the highest standards. This position is ideal for a construction professional who enjoys leading by example, mentoring others, and helping ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and up to standard.
What You'll Do- Lead, train, mentor, and support Construction Assistants across assigned communities.
- Provide daily direction, coaching, and accountability to team members.
- Conduct daily and weekly team meetings and communicate priorities effectively.
- Serve as the primary resource for Construction Assistants by assisting with questions, challenges, and field-related issues.
- Escalate concerns and communicate updates to the Lead Project Manager.
- Monitor communities to ensure permits, signage, safety information, and other required documentation are properly maintained.
- Assist with site access installation, including temporary boardwalks, stairways, and handrails.
- Ensure job sites remain clean, organized, and professional through ongoing site maintenance and debris removal.
- Transport materials and coordinate pickups and returns as needed.
- Assist with material ordering and support trade contractors throughout various phases of construction.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Residential Construction Assistant.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to pass a driving record check.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and support others in a construction environment.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Effective communication and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
