Role Description
We are seeking an Optometrist for a full-time, on-site role located in Portage, MI. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye exams to assess patients’ vision and eye health, diagnose and treat visual conditions, and recommend corrective lenses or treatment plans. The role includes educating patients on proper eye care practices and collaborating with other team members to provide the highest standard of patient care.
Additionally, the Optometrist will ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and maintain accurate medical records.
- Proficiency in performing comprehensive eye exams, diagnosing and managing ocular diseases, and prescribing corrective lenses
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to educate patients and collaborate with the vision care team
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain accurate patient records
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and active state optometry license
- Familiarity with up-to-date technologies and equipment used in optometry practice is preferred
- Commitment to delivering excellent patient care and adhering to ethical and professional standards
- Previous experience in a similar role or in a retail optometry setting is a plus
