Why this role matters

You’ll steward a QMS that aligns with ASME, AWS, API, ANSI, and stringent client standards.

You’ll be our designated Code Authority for ASME pressure piping programs, partnering closely with the Authorized Inspection Agency.

You’ll champion a culture of quality across field, shop, and project management.

What will you do?

Create, update, and control ITPs, QCPs, WPSs, and PQRs; manage NCRs, CAR/PAR actions, and records retention.

Qualify welders/operators per ASME Section IX and AWS D1.1/D1.6; coordinate lab testing and NDE.Administer weld mapping, joint tracking, PWHT documentation, and material traceability/PMI.Lead NDE (RT, UT, MT, PT, VT) coordination and acceptance; review reports to close out packages.

Plan and execute hydrostatic, pneumatic, leak, and functional testing in the field.

Coordinate with Owner’s Inspector (OI), Authorized Inspector (AI), and AIA representatives.

Engage in preconstruction and design/constructability sessions; respond to RFIs and NCRs; deliver KPIs and trend insights.

What you’ll bring

Education BS in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or similar preferred.

AS degree with strong experience considered; or HS/GED plus 12+ years progressive piping QA/QC leadership.

Experience8+ years QA/QC in industrial piping construction/fabrication.
5+ years supervisory QC experience on union jobs.

Demonstrated administration of ASME B31.1 and/or B31.3 programs.

Pipe shop hands-on background strongly preferred.

Comfortable working with collective bargaining agreements and labor relations.

Certifications AWS CWI — Required.

ASME Inspector qualification (or equivalent) — Strongly preferred.

ASNT Level II/III (RT/UT/MT/PT) — Preferred.

API 570 — Preferred.

OSHA 30-Hour Construction — Required (within 90 days if not current).Technical fluencyASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.9; ASME Section IX; AWS D1.1/D1.6; OSHA 1910/1926.QMS documentation, ITP/WPS/PQR development, material traceability systems.

Procore, Bluebeam, and equivalent construction/document control tools.

Read P&IDs, isometrics, and fabrication/engineering drawings.

Comprehensive grasp of NDE methodology and acceptance criteria.

Work environment & physical demands

Office and active construction sites: plants, refineries, power generation, commercial buildings.

Exposure to weather, heights, confined spaces, and industrial hazards; PPE required.

Climb ladders/scaffolds; work at heights; navigate tight areas; stand/walk for extended periods.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local travel.
