The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager will provide leadership to the Environmental, Health and Safety programs at the Portage location within the defined World Class Manufacturing (WCM) framework, in a manner consistent with the Principles of Conduct and Action of Saint-Gobain. With strategic guidance from both the central EHS function and local plant managers, this hands‑on leadership position will: ensure federal, state and local legislative compliance, define and lead EHS and sustainability programs that support Corporate and business objectives, develop and maintain ISO systems, cultivate an autonomous EHS culture, define and maintain site permits, EHS standard operating procedures, provide EHS training, develop risk identification and reduction awareness and methods, all achieved through participation and employee engagement.
The EHS Manager will provide direction and leadership to all plant department managers, supervisors and employees in matters dealing with EHS related matters and will serve as leader for the plant’s various safety efforts. This role proactively drives awareness, communicates best practices, and implements new programs related to EHS. They will work to foster safe behavior, machinery and regulatory compliance for EHS through the entire site.
Facilitating collaborative discussions, projects and best-practice sharing across other key manufacturing sites regarding EHS topics will be required while also leading continuous improvement of EHS Management System.
Is this job for you ?
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering , Safety Sciences is required, Master's preferred.
- CSP Certification within the last 3 years preferred.
- COSS Certification with the last 3 years preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment with a proven track records of success in reducting occupational injuries and maintaining compliance with pertinent regulations is required,
- Minimum of 5 years experience with a strong safety background and experience in federal regulations and reporting.
- Experience with OSHA, federal and state reporting and regulations is required.
