Providing excellent guest service is at the heart of what we do. Whether it’s a friendly greeting, answering questions or addressing guest concerns, you’ll handle each interaction with professionalism and care. Your willingness to help guests with what they need will make a positive impact every day.
As a key part of our retail and grocery team, you’ll ensure every customer leaves ready to "boomerang" back again.
What You'll DoAs a Produce Clerk, you will play a vital role in maintaining stock levels, providing exceptional customer service, and upholding high standards of care. Your responsibilities include:
- Engage with Guests: Provide outstanding customer service in person and via phone to help guests find items, place orders, handle special requests, and address concerns.
- Maintain Stock Levels: Ensure all items are well‑stocked and displayed according to company standards. Rotate products using first‑in, first‑out methods to maintain freshness.
- Ensure Cleanliness & Food Safety: Keep the sales floor and cooler clean and organized, free of spills. Log temperature of produce and complete rotation sheets daily.
- Maintain Supplies & Produce Stock: Ensure supplies such as bags and ties are plentiful. Rotate stock using first‑in, first‑out methods and order specific products such as dips, spices, and herbs when needed.
- Teamwork: Perform other duties to support the team.
- Honor Commitments: Provide timely attendance according to the work schedule and notify management of absences.
To excel in the Produce Clerk role, you should have:
- Customer Service
Skills:
Engage with guests and deliver outstanding service. - Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work in a diverse, fast‑paced team.
- Safety Awareness: Understand safety requirements and company policies. Apply safety training to recognize and respond to hazards on the floor, using equipment such as trash compactor, baler, slicer, etc.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of retail food operations and perishable department functions.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. Requirements include:
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Full range of upper body motion.
- Work at a fast pace.
- Be exposed to extreme temperatures.
- Part‑time: 28 hours per week or less.
- Shifts may vary including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
