Summary

Responsible for assisting tool crib customers as well as ordering and coordinating the receiving, storing, and issuing of hand tools, machine tools, materials, and equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Issues tools and equipment to associates and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned; uses any applicable tracking program/software to log inventory transactions and to log all visitors and associates
  • Prepares and signs requisitions for items needed for production, assign account numbers to items purchased
  • Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment
  • Prepares periodic inventory and maintains perpetual inventory of tools, equipment and assists with year-end audit, if applicable
  • Receives, unpacks, organizes, and stores incoming inventory, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory
  • Manages Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inventory
  • Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear and reports damage or wear to supervisors;
    Identifies, repairs, services, and lubricates tools and equipment
  • Maintains all universal waste and containers to ensure proper handling, notifies purchasing when pick up is needed, if applicable
  • Ensures that all chemicals leaving the tool crib are properly labeled with GHS(Global Harmonization System) labels
  • Assists department on key projects and initiatives
  • Follows applicable Versatility Chart
  • Coordinates emergency activities such as monitors storms, sends and receives emergency calls, communicates emergency plan deployment to all departments, if applicable
  • Surveys property with surveillance system and responds to any emergency situation as necessary, if applicable
  • Dispatches maintenance to machines when requested by shop floor, if applicable
  • Inventory issue data entry
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Use of basic mathematics. Ability to operate a variety of office equipment with basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with other departments. Ability to prioritize, organize and manage multiple projects.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Work Availability

Must have the ability to work all shift schedules, periodic overtime and be available for periodic weekend work.
