School Nurse (RN)

• Current RN license for the state of New Mexico
• Current First Aid or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR/BLS) certification
• Prior professional nursing experience, preferably in school and/or pediatric nursing
• Must have the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; and the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• May include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds

Contract through the 2025/2026 school year – 32 hours per week. Contract follows the academic district calendar.

• Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify health concerns and provide appropriate interventions
• Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic illnesses or special health needs
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as necessary
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students
• Educate students, staff, and families on health-related topics, including illness prevention, nutrition, and hygiene
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to address health concerns and promote a healthy school environment
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and serve as a resource for school health policies and procedures
• Stay up to date on current nursing practices, regulations, and guidelines related to school health services

$1,440.00 – $1,504.00 per week
