position description

the civil engineer is responsible for designing, integrating, and improving biochar manufacturing systems and related processes. The role may collaborate with commercial or industrial designers to refine product designs and enhance producibility. This position oversees four supervisors who collectively manage approximately 20 employees in the biochar plant, providing leadership in directing, coordinating, and evaluating operational activities. Core responsibilities include full‑scope supervision aligned with organizational policies and applicable laws;

interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; administering discipline and rewards; and resolving employee concerns and operational challenges.

duties and responsibilities
  • troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes.
  • investigate or resolve operational problems, such as material use variances or bottlenecks.
  • identify opportunities or implement changes to improve manufacturing processes or products or to reduce costs, using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
  • apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost‑effectiveness.
