: $3,038.65 – $4,226.21 Monthly (Maximum Entry Level: $3,065.78 Monthly)
- Perform routine custodial activities at an assigned school campus or district facility during a day or evening shift
- Sweep, scrub, mop, wax, and polish floors; vacuum rugs and carpets; spot clean, shampoo, and tap water spills
- Clean classrooms, lounges, offices, and other facilities; empty waste receptacles; remove gum, debris, and graffiti
- Clean and disinfect drinking fountains and restroom facilities, including sinks, toilets, and urinals; replenish dispensers with towels, soap, toilet paper, and other items
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and woodwork; perform minor repairs to furniture as needed
- Lock and unlock doors and gates; maintain security of assigned areas; set and disengage alarms
- Report safety, sanitary, and fire hazards to the appropriate authority; report maintenance repair needs
- Move and arrange furniture and equipment; prepare classrooms, gym and multi‑purpose rooms for special events or meetings; clean up after events
- Operate custodial equipment such as vacuums, mops, small hand and power tools, buffer/scrubber machines, blowers, and other equipment
- Participate in the thorough cleaning and restoration of campus facilities during vacation periods as assigned
- Perform minor grounds maintenance duties as assigned
At least six months related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge & Abilities- Knowledge of proper methods, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment for modern custodial work
- Understanding of modern cleaning techniques for floors, blackboards, carpets, furniture, walls, and fixtures
- Knowledge of proper storage methods for equipment, materials, and supplies
- Familiarity with building maintenance requirements in a safe, clean, and orderly environment
- Knowledge of safety precautions and procedures, including proper lifting techniques
- Ability to execute routine custodial activities at assigned facilities and maintain them in clean, orderly, and secure conditions
- Ability to safely and efficiently use cleaning materials and equipment
- Ability to operate a variety of custodial equipment and maintain it in clean working order
- Ability to move and arrange furniture and equipment for meetings and special events
- Ability to observe and report safety hazards and maintenance needs
- Ability to perform minor non‑technical repairs
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
- Ability to meet schedules and timelines
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Capacity to lift at least 75 pounds and pass a fitness for duty physical, including a drug screen
