Job Title Packaging Operator- 2nd Shift Shift Shift 2 (United States of America) Summary Prepare finished product for packaging and shipment which includes the building of crates, inspection, weighing, labeling and documenting. This is an hourly, non-exempt position reporting to the Group Leader.
Job DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities
- Construct crates and/or boxes to properly and securely hold products for shipment.
- Weigh and label packages as required.
- Inspect packages to ensure they meet shipping regulations.
- Monitor and inspect finished good products throughout the packaging/crating process.
- Read and compare packaging & paint requirements to print/specs.
- Visually inspect parts during packaging/crating and take any necessary actions to correct imperfections.
- Perform testing and complete documentation as required by the customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- High school Diploma or GED required.
- Preferably 1 year of proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic crane and forklift experience including forklift certification (or the ability to be trained/certified) Basic product knowledge, blueprint reading skills and record keeping abilities.
- Capable of understanding and following routing information.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management.
- Troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to effectively train new employees.
- Proven ability to inspect work and meet quality expectations.
- Ability to identify and share process improvement ideas.
- Ability to operate saws and hand tools.
- Strong writing skills.
- Capable of working closely with other employees to meet customer requirements.
- Ability to perform testing and complete documentation as required by our customers.
- Ability to monitor and communicate inventory concerns.
- Prolonged periods standing.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
