Accounting Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Portland, Maine. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in managing financial transactions and ensuring accuracy in records. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and Quick Books.

Responsibilities:

- Process and verify invoices to ensure accurate payments and proper documentation.

- Maintain and update accounts payable and accounts receivable records.

- Utilize Quick Books to manage financial transactions and generate reports.

- Perform accurate data entry to maintain organized financial records.

- Reconcile discrepancies in invoices and resolve any payment issues.

- Collaborate with team members to improve financial workflows and processes.

- Prepare periodic financial summaries and reports for management review.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

- Respond to inquiries related to accounting matters in a timely manner. Requirements - Proven experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

- Proficiency in Quick Books and other accounting software.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

- Ability to reconcile financial records and resolve discrepancies.

- Familiarity with invoice processing and related procedures.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Effective communication skills for teamwork and client interactions.
