Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Accountant to help maintain our financial records and support daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, general ledger maintenance, and accounts receivable, along with familiarity with insurance billing and third-party payer accounts. Bring your analytical skills and software expertise (Munis experience is a huge plus!)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* Maintains records of accounting receipts and expenditures

* Maintains accounts receivable ledgers, i.e. posting charges, payments, and adjustments

* Maintains control of subsidiary accounting records involving a wide variety of accounts and transactions, including those records related to trust funds

* Reconciles bank accounts to various general ledger cash control accounts

* Reconciles ledger reports to various other reports, including census and patient revenue

* Prepares, or assists in preparation of, financial statements, cost data, budgets, grants, and other accounting records and instruments, including miscellaneous billings based on adjustments

* Pre-audits revenues and expenditures

* May issue purchase orders to department and division personnel

* Prepares routine local, State, and federal reports, and corresponds with local, State, and federal agencies

* Conducts oral or written communications relating to problem and/or delinquent balances

* Prepares departmental or divisional payroll and may serve as back-up for authorizing department or division payroll

* Performs related work as required

Required

Skills & Experience:

Experience in general accounting and bookkeeping work. Graduation from a four-year high school, supplemented by two years of college or university training in accounting, or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

* Working knowledge of and ability to use accounting and auditing principles, methods, and procedures in working with numerous accounts

* Working knowledge of applicable software accounting systems, including spreadsheet software

* Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, clients, and representatives of State and federal agencies

* Ability to operate calculators, typewriters, and personal computers

* Knowledge of insurance billing and third-party payer accounts

* Working knowledge of Munis system preferred

Expected Hours/

Schedule:

This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm.

Salary & Benefits:

This is a union position, CEBA Grade 13, with a starting pay range of $48,613.76-$54,717.00 per year, based on relevant years of experience.
