Opera Maine seeks an organized, collaborative, and detail-oriented full-charge bookkeeper to manage financial and compliance reporting, donor systems, and event support.
Position OverviewLocation:
Portland, Maine, with in-office and remote flexibility
Hours:
10-15 hours weekly, up to 30 hours during high-demand periods (events and productions)
Compensation:
Hourly, commensurate with experience, starting at $21-$26 per hour
Reports to:
Executive Director
Works Closely with:
Board President, Board Treasurer, Development and Event Chairs
- Bookkeeping/accounting experience required, Quick Books Online (QBO) experience preferred
- Arts Administration and/or nonprofit operations experience preferred
- Database Management experience required:
Donor Snap or similar CRM preferred - Discretion in handling confidential personal and financial information required
- Organizational and process management skills with attention to detail
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Strategic thinking; ability to anticipate financial needs
- Comfort working collaboratively with management and staff, trustees, artists, and volunteers
