POSITION SUMMARY:
The Ops Lead - Emergency Response (ER) is a hands-on role, working alongside cross functional Emergency Response teams, leading daily field Emergency Response operations for environmental services projects. The Ops Lead ER oversees crews, coordinates resources, and drives operational performance while maintaining strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards. This role serves as the primary on-site leader responsible for translating business priorities into execution.
PRINCIPLERESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and direct daily work activities to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient Emergency Response operations.
Support operations leaders by coordinating and mobilizing crews, equipment, materials, and schedules during emergency events.
Promote and enforce safety procedures, provide operational training, and elevate performance feedback as appropriate.
Oversee Emergency Response projects including, supplies, coordination with vendors, transporters, and treatment facilities.
Ensure proper housekeeping, storage, and handling of hazardous chemicals related to an Emergency Response event.
Maintain preparedness through drills, training, and coordination with internal teams and external agencies.
Ensure safe and effective Emergency Response processes and procedures are followed for the duration of an event.
Make operational decisions consistent with customer facility operating permits, including the state, regional, and federal regulations.
Review, complete, and sign required documentation, including RCRA manifests and related regulatory records.
Collaborate with facility team on any maintenance requirements for various equipment.
Participate in emergency response activities and perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of environmental operations, high hazard events within an emergency response environment, and hazardous material safety standards.
Strong operational judgement, problem-solving, and decision-making skills within a high-risk environment.
Knowledge of high hazard events, chemical handling, spill clean-up measures, special licenses, and DOT training.
Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail during emergency situations.
Must be able to prioritize, stay focused and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and high hazard environment.
2 - 4 years of related Emergency Response experience.
A valid driver’s license with an MVR that complies with company standards.
