Concrete Laborer
This role supports masonry and concrete restoration projects by assisting skilled tradespeople, performing a variety of general construction labor tasks, and helping maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite under the direction of the site management team.
Responsibilities- Assist with mixing, pouring, and placing concrete for restoration projects according to specifications and directions.
- Support masons by handling, lifting, and transporting materials such as concrete, brick, and masonry supplies.
- Perform concrete patching and repair work as directed, including surface preparation and finishing.
- Carry out general labor duties on construction sites, including loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Set up and prepare work areas, including assembling basic forms, staging materials, and positioning tools and equipment.
- Assist with rebar placement and basic concrete form work as instructed by supervisors or skilled tradespeople.
- Operate and handle power tools and construction equipment safely, following all instructions and safety procedures.
- Perform ongoing cleanup and debris removal to keep the jobsite free of hazards and obstructions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area throughout the project.
- Follow verbal instructions and safety guidelines from supervisors and site management, and report any unsafe conditions promptly.
- Previous construction experience, preferably in heavy construction settings.
- Hands-on experience performing general labor tasks on construction sites.
- Basic knowledge of concrete work, including mixing, pouring, and finishing.
- Ability to assist with masonry tasks such as brick handling and basic brick masonry support.
- Familiarity with using power tools and basic construction equipment safely.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions accurately and consistently.
- Strong adherence to safety guidelines and jobsite protocols.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to perform physically demanding tasks.
- OSHA-10 certification or willingness to obtain OSHA-10 certification.
This is a permanent position based out of Portland, ME.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $27.00/hr.
