IT is seeking to hire a full-time Digital Preservation Photographer/Technician. The primary role of the Digital Preservation Photographer is to assist in the production of digital surrogates of books, manuscripts, photographs, slides, objects, and more to be used in client materials. This position will initially focus on technician-level responsibilities to support digitization workflows, with the opportunity to expand into increased photography responsibilities over time based on project needs and performance.

This job will be performed onsite in South Portland, Maine.
RequirementsRequired Skills/Abilities:

- Technical knowledge of cameras.
- Flexibility with shifting priorities.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Google Suite.
Experience:
- Comfort and fluency with computers is required.
- Digital photography experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Produces high-quality photographs to support specific projects.
- Follows known protocols for handling archival items.
- Professionally interacts with clients.
- Maintains equipment and stock necessary supplies.
- Travels to client sites as required.
- Names files for consistency, organization, and ease of use.
- Operates computer based digital imaging systems using a broad range of hardware and software applications for scanning, calibration, image processing, hardcopy output, and file storage/management in order to achieve a desired result.
- Operates digital cameras and digital copy systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
