Optometrist – Cataract & Post-Operative Care

Eyecare Medical Group | Portland, Maine

Eyecare Medical Group (EMG) is seeking a collaborative, patient-focused Optometrist to join our growing, physician-led practice. This role is centered on cataract evaluations and post-operative care
, working closely with our ophthalmologists to deliver exceptional outcomes and a seamless patient experience.

About the Role

As an Optometrist at EMG, you’ll play a key role in supporting our cataract service line by:

  • Performing comprehensive pre-operative cataract evaluations
  • Managing post-operative care clinics
  • Collaborating closely with ophthalmologists, technicians, and care teams
  • Providing thoughtful patient education and clinical guidance throughout the surgical journey
  • Contributing to efficient clinic flow and high-quality clinical outcomes

This is an excellent opportunity for an optometrist who enjoys clinical collaboration, values continuity of care, and wants to focus on medical optometry within a well-supported team environment.

What We’re Looking For
  • OD degree from an accredited optometry program
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of Maine
  • Strong interest or experience in cataract care and post-operative management
  • Collaborative mindset and comfort working alongside ophthalmologists
  • Commitment to high clinical standards, patient experience, and team culture
  • New graduates and experienced optometrists are welcome to apply
