Portland Public Schools has two Dedicated Building Substitute openings available for the 26-27 school year at Rowe Elementary.

Assigned to a specific school for the entire year, the Dedicated Substitute is onsite daily and able to fill in as needed, assisting with daily classroom functions, implementing lesson plans, and monitoring and supporting students. At times, the Dedicated Substitute may be assigned to the same classroom for multiple days. The Dedicated Substitute plays an essential role in providing continuity and consistency for the students at their assigned school.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• [Preferred] Prior experience working with children

• Maine State fingerprint (CHRC) authorization (more info)

• Schedule: School Year, Full Time, 1.0 FTE (standard 7 hour day)
• Assignment: Temporary (not guaranteed from year to year)
• Wages: $28.99 per hour
• Benefits: Eligible for $500 / month toward a PPS medical benefits plan, also eligible for Earned Paid Leave (EPL) as per Maine law
