Position: Good Health Works - UMaine NorthStar 4-H Tanglewood

The UMaine 4‑H Camp and Learning Center at Tanglewood is in Lincolnville, Maine. Our mission is to teach youth to be effective and caring citizens of the Earth through affordable environmental education and nature‑based experiences. You will support the broad mission of helping Maine youth improve their lives through research‑based information and education by participating in immersive youth development programs that utilize best practices in outdoor education, positive youth development, and mentorship.

Duties

Build relationships with 5th‑grade students before they transition to middle school.
Lead weekly in‑school activities such as group building, ecology, and communication.
Support two cohorts of 15‑20 students identified for extra academic and social‑emotional support from grades 6‑12.
Coordinate after‑school, weekend, and school‑break adventures for the cohorts.
Foster long‑term relationships among students, families, the school, and the surrounding community.
Commit to 900 hours of service with flexible start and end dates.
