Interim Assistant Director, Student Affairs & First

The Interim Assistant Director of Student Affairs and Assistant First Year Dean will provide general support across the Division of Student Affairs. This position will provide support for offices that are specifically working with incoming first years, providing first year programming, and working to support the first-year experience.

With a focus on supporting the first-year experience through the Office of the Dean of Students (ODOS), The Assistant Director of Student Affairs and First-Year Dean provides general academic and social support for a specific cohort of students as well as overall support for the ODOS team. This position plays a strong role in articulating the institutional value of diversity, fostering an equitable and inclusive community, and promoting the health and well-being of individual students.

Additionally, this person will help students navigate academic and personal challenges that arise; assist students in developing tools to make difficult decisions; empower students to be problem-solvers; and connect students to campus resources to facilitate their success.

This is a 10 month fixed-term appointment, from August 15, 2026 to June 15, 2027.

A Bachelor’s degree is required.

Must be collaborative, well organized, with excellent attention to detail, solution-oriented and exercise sound judgment. Skilled in active listening, program facilitation and communicating with multiple constituents.

Entry level, 1-3 years related experience working with teen/college students preferred.
