South Portland Schools are seeking Educational Technicians to support students in Special Education.

• Resource Classrooms typically serve students with primarily academic and some social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Classrooms are supported by service providers as needed.
• Composite Classrooms typically serve students who have more disability related needs (academic, social, attentional, behavioral, and developmental). Composite classrooms are supported by service providers and a BCBA.
• Functional Life Skills Classrooms serve students who often have communication, academic, behavioral, sometimes physical, and often require support with activities of daily living. Classrooms are supported by a full service provider team, including a BCBA, Speech/Language Pathologist, and Occupational Therapist.
• Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Classrooms serve students who require support with emotional and behavioral regulation, as well as academic and social needs ssrooms are supported by a full service provider team, including a Consulting Psychologist/BCBA, and Social Worker.

This position supports K-4 learners in Regular Education Settings

  35 hours per week: 8:30-3:30 five days a week at Small School
• Qualifications

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and flexibility skills
• Responsibilities
  • Support students' academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and developmental growth
  • Assist with classroom routines, small group instruction, and individualized student support

This position supports young learners in a high-quality early childhood classroom focused on academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development through the PreK for ME curriculum.

  35 hours per week: 8:15-3:15 five days a week at Dyer and Small Schools
• Qualifications
  • Experience working with young children, preferably in an early childhood or PreK setting
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
    
    Strong communication, collaboration, and flexibility skills
• Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the PreK teacher to support implementation of the PreK for ME curriculum
  • Support students' academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and developmental growth
  • Assist with classroom routines, small group instruction, and individualized student support
  • Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with members of the district PreK team and related service providers
  • Attend professional development and participate in ongoing training opportunities
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role
• We are seeking both regular education and special education PreK Ed Techs
