Part Time Teacher

Overview

At Learn Well, we are committed to changing the lives of the 10 million students in the U.S. who are dealing with behavioral health issues. For more than 26 years, we have provided on-site educational services in hospitals, helping these school-age patients continue their education during treatment and reintegrate successfully into the classroom. With a network of over 200 educators, we strive to make a positive impact for generations to come.

This part-time position is based in Portland, ME and involves working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to child and adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.

• Plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed.
• Monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports.
• Support class sizes that typically range from 8 to 15 school-age patients in a small classroom setting within a behavioral health facility.

Part-time commitment of 12 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9:00–12:00 pm.

Location:

Portland, ME.

• B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution
• Maine teaching license
• Comfortable working with K-12 students
• Strong organizational skills
• Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs
• Reliable transportation
