Position: Part-Time Faculty - Chinese (Linguistics), Academic Year 2026 - 2027

The University of Southern Maine’s Linguistics Department is seeking a part‑time instructor to teach the Chinese 101 language course for Fall 2026, beginning August 31, 2026.

Responsibilities include full delivery and grading of the course, developing the course content, teaching, assessing student performance, and meeting with students as needed.

Qualifications
  • Native or near‑native fluency in the language.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the language.
Compensation and Benefits

Part‑time faculty members are paid on a credit‑hour basis based on prior teaching experience, and may elect certain benefits provided by the University of Maine System.
