Deering High School is looking for an experienced music educator to teach grades 9‑12. A successful candidate will create a joyful and rigorous learning environment that inspires young minds and helps them develop their string skills and musical knowledge. The candidate will thrive as a teacher while maintaining relationships with stakeholders and students.

• Differentiating music curriculum to meet the needs of the individual student and the diverse student body
• Building relationships and mentoring students
• Establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment during class, group rehearsals, and music performances
• Preparing students for school concerts, local performances, and other planned music experiences
• Inspiring and motivating students to practice outside of class time and be involved in the local music scene
• Collaborating with both music and non‑music colleagues
• Maintaining care/responsibility for school‑owned music, musical instruments, and equipment to prevent loss or damage

• Schedule: School Year, Full Time (1.0 FTE)
• Assignment: FILL IN
• Reports to: School Principal
• Contract: Part of PEA union (see 2025‑2028 CBA here)
• Salary: Based on education and experience, as outlined in CBA
