TITLE: Dedicated Building Substitute (Full Time) - King Middle
Position OverviewPortland Public Schools has a Dedicated Building Substitute opening available for the school year at King Middle School. Assigned specifically to King for the entire year, the Dedicated Substitute is onsite daily and able to fill in as needed, assisting with daily classroom functions, implementing lesson plans, and monitoring and supporting students. At times, the Dedicated Substitute may be assigned to the same classroom for multiple days.
The Dedicated Substitute plays an essential role in providing continuity and consistency for the students at their assigned school. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for those who are passionate about helping students reach their full potential.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

Prior experience working with children

Active Maine State Teacher Certification (more info) - Maine State fingerprint (CHRC) authorization (more info)
- Schedule: School Year, Full Time (1.0 FTE)
- Assignment: Temporary, not guaranteed to extend beyond the 26-27 school year
- Wage: $29.57 per hour
- Benefits: Eligible for ~$500 per month toward a PPS medical benefits plan, also eligible for Earned Paid Leave (EPL) as per Maine law
* Approx amount is based on 25-26 rate. The rate for 26-27 will be higher.
