Assistant Coach / Driver

East Crew is seeking an assistant coach and driver to work alongside Coach Lucas for the 2026–2027 school year. You’ll help deliver after‑school squash programs to elementary, middle, and high school students in Portland — building real relationships with kids and families along the way. This is a hands‑on, people‑first role. Expect fun trips, team meals, and genuine connections with underserved youth in the Portland community.

Squash experience is encouraged but coaching experience is not required.

Hourly Rate: $25‑30
Seasons per year: 3
Length per season: 8 weeks

Fall — Oct to Nov
Winter — Jan to early Apr
Spring — Apr to May

Monday: High school squash practice, 3:30–4:30 or 4:30–5:30
Tuesday: Middle school squash practice, 3:30–4:30 or 4:30–5:30
· Drive students home 5:30–6:15
Wednesday: Elementary school squash practice, 2:00–3:00
· Drive students home 3:00–3:30
· Optional: high school 4:00–5:30
Thursday: Middle school squash practice, 3:30–4:30 or 4:30–5:30
· Drive students home 5:30–6:15
Friday: Elementary school squash practice, 4:00–5:00
· Drive students home 5:00–5:30

• Assist Coach Lucas in running squash practices for elementary, middle, and high school students
• Drive students home safely after Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday sessions
• Build positive, consistent relationships with students and their families
• Participate in team trips, clinics, and other paid activities as they arise

• Reliable, committed, and enthusiastic about working with young people
• Valid driver’s license and comfort transporting students
• Squash experience preferred (for the full coaching role)
• Prior coaching experience is not required — we’ll support you
• Ability to commit to one full school year

• Weekend trips and clinics may be available for additional pay
