Full-Time | Reports to Executive Director

Portland Media Center seeks an Community Media Educator who is first and foremost a hands‑on instructor. This role leads our media education workshops directly, while also managing curriculum development, instructor support, participant engagement, and program logistics.

• Serve as the primary instructor for all studio, field, podcast, and editing workshops
• Design and develop curriculum that supports your own teaching as well as guest instructors
• Establish learning objectives and evaluate program effectiveness
• Research and integrate emerging media technologies into programming

• Recruit, schedule, and support qualified instructors
• Manage participant registration, communication, and completion tracking
• Create inclusive programming for diverse skill levels and backgrounds

• Coordinate workshop schedules, equipment, venues, and materials
• Oversee program budgets and grant‑funded intensives
• Build partnerships with local schools, organizations, and media professionals
• Represent PMC at community events and professional gatherings

• Experience in media production and educational program development
• Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
• Proficiency with media production software and equipment
• A bachelor's degree in Media Studies, Communications, Education, or a related field is preferred but not required

Studio broadcast television, field camera operation, podcasting, audio production, digital storytelling, and video and audio editing.
