SummaryThe Special Education Teacher - DD role designs, implements, and oversees the educational services for students in the year‑round special purpose schools. The Special Education Teacher is an integral member of the multidisciplinary education and treatment teams and supports the implementation plan of each student's positive behavioral support plan within the educational setting.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field required. Master's Degree preferred.
Certifications:
Maine Department of
Education:
Certification 282 – Teacher of Children with Disabilities required.
One year of teaching experience with children with developmental disabilities preferred.
Required:
DOE fingerprinting.
Knowledge and skills necessary to provide education and care to students' ages 5-
