Job Description
WSP USA, Inc is seeking an early‑career Civil Engineer to carry out the planning, design, and modeling of site grading, surface preparation, stormwater and stormwater management systems. The engineer will prepare technical documents, provide construction oversight, and interface with internal and external clients. The role requires dynamic, creative, quality‑driven work with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and a proactive problem‑solving approach.
The engineer will collaborate with teams of engineers, architects, and scientists on projects including site development, infrastructure, landfills, stream restoration, and soil/groundwater remediation.
- Graduate with a BS or MS degree in civil, environmental engineering, or a related field.
- 0‑1 year civil/environmental design experience.
- Work within multidisciplinary design teams on site development, infrastructure, landfills, stream restoration, soil, and groundwater remediation projects.
- Conduct grading and drainage design and stormwater modeling.
- Plan and implement erosion and sediment control and stormwater permitting.
- Prepare engineering design calculations and design reports.
- Apply AutoCAD Civil3D for surface models and earthwork quantities.
- Read, comprehend, and prepare construction drawings, technical specifications, and construction details.
- Generate project permitting documents for local, state and federal permits.
- Inspect construction and perform oversight activities.
- Maintain excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Engage coworkers, clients and prospective clients professionally and ethically.
- Accept responsibility and support additional tasks as required.
- Promote a safe work environment and enhance company safety culture.
- Be flexible to work outside normal business hours when necessary.
- Travel to project sites as required; approximately 10 % overnight travel.
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
- Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
- PE license or ability to obtain a PE license within 4 years.
- Proficiency in preparing design calculations, reports, specifications, and drawings.
- AutoCAD knowledge and experience.
- Experience with Civil3D is a plus.
- MS in Civil Engineering.
- Construction inspection or oversight experience.
- 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.

CompensationExpected Salary (all locations): $60,400 – $70,300.
