Highways Site Engineer

Site Engineer – Civil Engineering (Didcot)
We are seeking a proactive and technically strong Site Engineer to support the delivery of a major infrastructure scheme in Didcot. This role requires a hands‑on approach, strong engineering skills, and an ability to collaborate across the project team.

• Carrying out surveying and setting‑out duties on site
• Reviewing drawings and quantities to ensure accuracy
• Planning and organising site activities to meet programme deadlines
• Coordinating materials and liaising with procurement teams
• Communicating with consultants, subcontractors, and the wider project team
• Supervising site labour and subcontractor performance
• Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards
• Maintaining quality records and resolving technical issues
• Arranging material testing and calibration of instruments
• Keeping accurate and detailed site records and diaries
• Identifying and implementing improvements on site
• Supporting the Site Manager and Section Engineer as required

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Project Management
• Proven experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering
• Strong setting‑out and surveying skills
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities
• Experience on highways, rail, or public realm projects (desirable)
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, GPS, and surveying equipment (desirable)
• Understanding of construction materials and testing processes (desirable)
• Valid CSCS (or equivalent), Health & Safety knowledge and First Aid certification
