Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Quality Engineering
What will you do? Under minimal supervision, support the maintenance staff as the technical leader on shift. Responsible for continuous improvement of plant processes and equipment, including design and PLC program changes, mechanical and electrical documentation, Six Sigma variation reduction, uptime improvements, and maintenance expense reduction.
Shift and Responsibilities- Work on a continuous 10:30pm–7am shift.
- Work under direction of the maintenance manager and collaborate with the engineering team.
- Support and manage the CMMS system on shift.
- Manage maintenance KPIs on shift.
- Provide technical assistance and resolution for electrical or engineering problems using problem‑solving techniques such as Pareto analysis, cause‑and‑effect analysis, multi‑variable analysis, FMEA, and DOE.
- Initiate and lead plant teams in process improvement projects.
- Source vendors, define SOWs, and manage contract deliverables for external engineering support.
- Provide technical support for plant operations, capital project implementation, and Six Sigma rollout.
- Act as liaison between Maintenance and Engineering personnel to communicate needs, process changes, and project reporting.
- Monitor processes, new equipment, and tools to ensure performance to specifications.
- Implement capital and non‑capital projects.
- Collaborate with quality control and manufacturing personnel to maintain product quality and compliance.
- Review new and modified specifications for proper content and schedule their introduction into the manufacturing system.
- Identify causes of recurring downtime and develop strategies to eliminate them.
- Assist in ensuring tools, equipment, and processes comply with OSHA and EPA standards.
- Combination of an associate’s degree with work experience or a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Renewable Energy engineering (preferred).
- Working knowledge of PLC programming and ladder logic.
- Experience in robotics programming, troubleshooting, and diagnostics (Fanuc/Denso preferred).
- Understanding of project/program management methodologies.
- Strong communication skills to engage multi‑functional teams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor/Solid Works, Excel, PowerPoint, CMMS, and related programs.
- Available to work the 10:30pm–7am shift.
