Emergency Department Technician – MMCP (Maine Medical Center Portland)

- 0–1 year of experience eligible for $2,500 (full time).
- 1+ year of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time).

The Maine Medical Center (MMC) emergency department is Maine’s only American College of Surgeons Level One verified trauma center and home to Maine’s only pediatric emergency department. Our state‑of‑the‑art facility serves a high‑volume patient population from Maine, New Hampshire, and visitors worldwide, addressing conditions such as chest pain, falls >10 feet, heart attack, seizures, suicidal thoughts, mental health crisis, physical assault, rape, poisoning, and others.
The Emergency Department Technician – MMCP role assists the healthcare team in organizing and implementing basic department activities such as stocking, results retrieval, and patient tracking. Under the guidance of the physician/advanced practice practitioner, this role performs patient care such as vital signs, pulse oximetry, ECG, phlebotomy, and other simple procedures.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)- Education:
High school graduate or GED preferred. - License/
Certifications:
Certified Nursing Assistant license required. - Experience:
None required. - Additional skills/requirements preferred:
Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
