This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Psychiatric Nursing to provide essential care within an emergency psych services setting. The role involves implementing the nursing process to deliver both direct and indirect patient care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans. Evaluation of patient outcomes and resource identification are also key responsibilities. Candidates will care for patients with a variety of psychiatric conditions, including major depression, bipolar disorder, and psychotic disorders, among others.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Associate degree in Nursing (2-year) required
- Valid Registered Nurse license for the State of Maine
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Current Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training prior to start
- Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in mental health nursing
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Team-oriented with the ability to manage stress and make decisions under pressure
- Flexible to provide coverage 24/7 as needed
- Deliver patient care using the nursing process in an emergency psychiatric setting
- Develop and update individualized interdisciplinary care plans
- Evaluate patient outcomes and assist patients in accessing necessary resources
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members
- Provide care to a diverse patient population, including children aged 5 and up
- Manage care for patients with psychiatric and some medical needs
- This is a contract position
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the hospital's location
- Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid
- The facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts per 13-week contract
- Previous employees and candidates with certain licensure conflicts will not be considered
