Position: Summer 2026 Human Resources Intern

The Human Resources Intern will directly assist the Human Resources team with a wide range of initiatives including HR compliance, onboarding/orientation, intern program support and administrative tasks. This internship provides hands-on experience and the opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a professional HR environment while developing practical skills in employee experience and HR operations. This is a full-time opportunity with dates from May 18th - August 7th, 2026.

This internship is based out of our Portland, ME Headquarters.

Travel Expectations: This role requires minimal travel, less than 10% per year.

  • Support our incoming 2026 Summer Intern Program, including preparation, onboarding, engagement activities, and offboarding
  • Assist in new employee orientation and onboarding activities
  • Preparing and editing correspondence, reports, and presentations
  • Processes and maintain HR paperwork in accordance with established procedures
  • Updating employee records with new hire information
  • Perform customer service functions by answering requests and questions
  • Shadow members of the Culture & Engagement team and assist with a variety of HR-related tasks
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and information
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Current or recent enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree program with an interest in to work in Human Resources
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe skills
  • Organization skills
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas

The hourly rate for this role is $27 per hour. This rate range represents Berry Dunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final rate may then be based on those additional qualifications;

compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The hourly rate for the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
