Chechen Linguist

Overview

ALTA Language Services seeks a talented individual to join our Testing Department as a contractor to review test content in Chechen. The linguist will be expected to deliver accurate, high-quality documentation within a specific deadline and timeline. Training regarding the specifics of the development will be provided.

• Native speaker of the given target language as specified in the position title.
• Excellent reading comprehension skills in the target language.
• Excellent writing skills in the target language and in English.
• Advanced communication skills in English.
• Ability and desire to work collaboratively.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Professionalism.

Degree:
College degree or equivalent experience. A degree in linguistics, translation, or similar is a plus.

Computer Knowledge:
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Must have email access with the capability to send and receive attached files, and must be able to navigate the Internet.

Languages:

Native-level fluency in the target language is required. Ability to communicate in English is essential, as it will be the language used in communication with the project team.

• Previous experience in test development or review is preferred.
• Previous experience using a language proficiency scale (e.g., ILR or CEFR) is preferred.
• Experience using the target language in a professional capacity (writing, teaching, translation, interpretation, etc.) is required.
