Summary:
The Associate Corporate Counsel role is a professional staff attorney assisting the Maine Health General Counsel and other supervising attorneys. The general job responsibility is to provide certain categories of legal services to Maine Health members; in particular, performing legal research; reviewing and drafting agreements; managing claims and litigation; and functioning as a subject matter expert in assigned areas. Responsibilities also include providing advice to managers throughout Maine Health regarding legal and regulatory considerations in patient care and health care operations but on topics more limited than those of more senior attorneys in the Department.
Associate Corporate Counsel will also perform other assignments made by the General Counsel or other supervising attorneys.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Certifications:
Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Maine. Admission to Maine State Bar is required.
Demonstrated ability to draft and edit contracts and other legal documents, as well as policies and recommendations.
