Summary:

The Maine Health Office of Legal Affairs is seeking an experienced attorney to work closely with emerging lines of business at Maine Health and to support dynamic, established departments, such as procurement.

This role requires critical thinking across multiple areas of law and working with internal clients to understand strategy, both at a fast pace. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of experience, including in areas of health law such as privacy, payor contracting and Medicare, and an ability to give practical advice.

The Maine Health Office of Legal Affairs is a group of attorneys and staff who provide advice and support in a range of legal areas, including employment, privacy, health law, real estate, malpractice, regulatory, and general corporate law. The Office of Legal Affairs works across the Maine Health system, supporting all Maine Health hospitals, clinicians and administrators in our common vision of working together so our communities are the healthiest in America.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education:

    Graduate from an accredited law school required.
  • License/

    Certifications:

    Licensed to practice law in the State of Maine required. Admission to Maine State Bar required.
  • Experience:

    Five years of experience representing healthcare clients and demonstrating knowledge of health law, commercial contracting, patient privacy laws and other legal topics associated with the representation of health care providers required.
