Modivcare is seeking a Wheelchair Driver in Cumberland County, ME to transport passengers to their destination within the defined mileage radius. The role operates Monday‑Friday, 4:00AM–8:00PM EST.
Responsibilities- Operate vehicle safely, following all traffic laws and ensuring passenger and road‑user safety.
- Transport passengers to and from medical facilities or homes in a timely manner.
- Use maps or GPS systems to navigate efficiently and minimize delays.
- Inspect vehicle for maintenance, keep it clean, and complete a mechanical checklist each shift.
- Enter daily trip sheets and report any mechanical or safety issues to management.
- Maintain all permits, licenses, and documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service and handle basic issues, referring complex problems to higher‑level staff.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Attend information systems security trainings and report security problems.
- Participate in other projects or duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Zero (0) or more years of relevant experience.
- Valid driver’s license for the appropriate vehicle type.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations or accidents.
- In‑depth knowledge of navigating the local area for safe, efficient routing.
- Excellent driving skills and ability to handle various road and weather conditions.
- Customer‑service orientation with strong communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and schedules.
- Physical fitness and stamina for long hours of driving, when applicable.
Salary: $17/hr modivcare will provide a company vehicle, a gas card, and a smartphone stipend.
