Job SummaryAs a Yard Jockey at our Portland, ME Warehouse, you will handle a variety of assignments based on training level and business needs to support warehouse operations. You will drive trucks and trailers, perform safety checks, manage product loading and unloading, and assist in the case room as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Drive trucks and trailers between off‑site storage and the manufacturing facility, checking for product safety and complying with all safety guidelines.
- Conduct a walk‑around safety check of all vehicles, including wheels, doors, re‑fuel units, load bars, etc.
- Once a truck is full, park it, switch it on, plug it in and keep it operational to maintain product integrity.
- Review work sheets for trailer arrangement and verify correct trailers are in the right bay for loading or unloading.
- Continuously check for and remove damaged goods to ensure only quality product is shipped to customers.
- Occasionally assist in the Case Room.
- Work cooperatively with managers, supervisors, and peers.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
- GED or High School Diploma.
- Reading & writing proficiency (English language).
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Multi‑tasking ability.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Experience driving commercial vehicles and a CDL.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Execute assigned duties with minimal supervision.
- Available for required overtime to support business needs and/or critical situations.
- Perform assigned duties satisfactorily and in a timely manner.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Actively participate in special teams representing the warehouse department.
- Maintain a clean & safe work environment.
- Lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs, using both hands and standing for extended periods.
- Push/Pull tasks ranging from 12 to 100 lbs, requiring walking and operating equipment.
- Standing, walking, operating a vehicle and driving under various environmental conditions.
- Working in inside, cooler and freezer environments; occasional outside work in wet, dry, or refrigerated conditions.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Pay range: $36.64 – $38.80 USD.
