Keller Warehousing is excited to announce the opening of a new facility in Portland, Maine, and we are building a strong leadership team to support this expansion.
Job SummaryThe Warehouse Manager is responsible for day-to-day warehouse operations, including inventory management, shipping, receiving, safety compliance, and labor supervision. This role ensures operational efficiency, cost control, and service excellence by aligning warehouse activities with company policies, customer expectations, and performance goals.
Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee all daily warehouse operations, including inventory management, shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and space utilization to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
- Participating in additional coverage (i.e., shortchanges, weekend coverage, etc.).
- Maintain accuracy of inventory through regular cycle counts, reconciliation of discrepancies, and proper record-keeping.
- Supervise shipping and receiving processes to guarantee timely inbound and outbound shipments, accurate documentation, and compliance with customer and company requirements.
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse staff, including supervisors and front-line employees, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations (OSHA, company policies) and maintain a safe working environment through training, audits, and proactive risk management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, procurement, and customer service, to meet operational goals and resolve issues quickly.
- Manage labor resources effectively, including scheduling, workload distribution, and performance evaluations to maximize productivity and meet budget objectives.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices for inventory control, shipping, and receiving functions.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, inventory turnover, shipping/receiving cycle times, and labor efficiency, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and safety inspections to ensure operational readiness and compliance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to optimize warehouse processes, reduce costs, and improve quality.
- Manage vendor relationships, including carriers and suppliers, to ensure high service levels and cost-effective operations.
- Prepare and manage warehouse budgets, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Handle escalations related to customer service, safety incidents, or operational disruptions with professionalism and urgency.
- Lead and participate in Accident Investigation and Corrective Actions. Conduct drug tests per training and company policy as required.
